With South By Southwest just around the corner (March 13 – 19, 2017) we'll run a preview of bands who use our gear and who're heading to SXSW this year. Today, we chat to Sun And The Wolf.
The South by Southwest music festival kicks off in a few days, on March 13, and we're very pleased to see that some pretty cool bands who play our gear will be part of it, so thought we'd share info about some of them! Last week, we wrote about Madrid's The Parrots, a very cool band who are sure to be one of the hottest at SXSW this year.
Today, we'll focus on The Sun And The Wolf, from Berlin. The band consists of Brodie White (Guitar, Vox), Peter Mangan (Guitar, Vox), Achilles Charmpilas (Bass, Vox) and Mike Tweed (Drums).
WHEN DID YOU GET TOGETHER?
Sun and the Wolf was founded in Berlin in 2008 by childhood friends Peter, Brodie and Mike. Achilles was added on bass in 2013.
WHAT ARE YOUR MAIN MUSICAL INFLUENCES / INSPIRATIONS?
We all listen to many different things, and the final result has more to do with achieving a specific vibe we want to put out into the world than playing a specific kind of music.WHAT EASTWOOD / AIRLINE GEAR DO YOU PLAY?
IS THIS YOUR FIRST SXSW?
It is as Sun and the Wolf, but Peter, Brodie and Mike were there about a decade ago with their previous band The Have.
WHAT CAN THE CROWD EXPECT FROM YOUR GIGS? WHY SHOULD PEOPLE COME AND SEE YOU GUYS?
We try to create a special vibe in our shows. We want to see people trip out and dance, and our show can go in unexpected directions if we feel the crowd wants to follow us down the rabbit hole...
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE YEAR AHEAD?
We have recently released a new single called “Precipice” and are now working to finish our new album which will probably be available towards the end of this Year.Sun And The Wolf SXSW 2017 dates:
