Everything You Need to Know About Eastwood Pre-Orders
Here at Eastwood, we do things a little different from other guitar companies. In addition to selling direct-to-consumer, many of our instruments are available for pre-order rather than outright purchase. Read on to learn the answers to your burning pre-order questions!
The guitar I want is available for pre-order. What does that mean?
If a product on our site is available for pre-order, that means we have some scheduled for production. Our guitars are not made to order. Rather, when you place a pre-order, you are reserving one from an incoming batch.
Do I have to pay full price to place a pre-order?
No! Most pre-orders can be placed with a small deposit. The full balance will only be charged when the product arrives in stock with us.
On these pre-orders, you may pay the full balance if you prefer. Our Guitstarter projects are an exception, and they are only reserved with a small deposit. Learn more about Guitstarter here.
I see the item I’m interested in has an “ETA” or “Estimated In-Stock Date" listed. What does that mean?
The estimated date shown on a product is when we expect the instrument to arrive at our US warehouse in Nashville, Tennessee. It is not when the product will ship to you!
It is worth noting these dates are, in fact, estimates. Our instruments are built overseas and travel to us by freight, and the estimates can (and do!) shift. Most of the time, the estimate is correct within 2-3 weeks, and it’s just as likely to arrive early as it is to arrive late. As soon as we learn about a change, we will update the estimated arrival time on the product page. In the rare event of an extended delay, we will reach out via email with updates to your order.
Why should I pre-order instead of waiting until something is in stock?
Inbound stock is limited, and it is not uncommon for us to sell out of something before it arrives at our warehouse. We highly recommend placing a pre-order to guarantee you receive the product you want!
What about the “Notify me when available” button?
Feel free to click that button if you’d like to receive an email when the product is in stock. Unlike a pre-order, this does not reserve the product for you! The only way to guarantee you’ll receive the product is with a pre-order.
Got it. How do I place a pre-order?
On the product page, select whether you would like to make a deposit or full payment. Then click “Pre-order.”
Note that while the subtotal shows the guitar’s full price, you will only be charged for the amount selected on the previous page. When you’re ready, click “Check out.”
Finally, enter your contact information and proceed with checkout. When you enter your address, a shipping quote and tax estimate (if applicable) will populate and the total will be updated. However, if you selected “deposit,” you will still only be charged the deposit amount.
