Story
The MRG Cello Guitar proved there are plenty of players who love exploring the world between guitar and cello. Naturally, we couldn't resist asking the next question: what if it went even lower?
Introducing the MRG 5-String Cello Guitar. By stretching the scale to a full-size 27 1/2" cello length and adding a low F string, we've expanded its range even further, unlocking deeper registers while preserving the familiar fifths tuning that makes it so inspiring to play. Tuned FCGDA and fitted with smooth flatwound strings, it delivers a rich, resonant voice that's equally at home with soaring melodies, deep drones, and powerful chord work.
It's familiar enough for guitarists to pick up, yet opens the door to an entirely different musical landscape.
If you've been looking for an instrument that blurs the line between electric guitar and cello, or simply want to venture into lower, richer territory, the MRG 5-String Cello Guitar is ready for its debut. Back it now on Guitstarter and help bring this unique instrument to life!
